---- Athenaeus, the Greek encyclopedist, who produced a voluminous "Banquet of the Philosophers", says of the Etruscan, indigenous of Italy:
"They had intercourse indiscriminately with women, who did not think it shameful to appear hfal-naked, and to practice both among themselves and in common with the men gymnastic exercises, and that too in the presence of spectators, even of young men."
