---- Athenaeus, the Greek encyclopedist, who produced a voluminous "Banquet of the Philosophers", says of the Etruscan, indigenous of Italy:

"They had intercourse indiscriminately with women, who did not think it shameful to appear hfal-naked, and to practice both among themselves and in common with the men gymnastic exercises, and that too in the presence of spectators, even of young men."
"These were actually enjoyed to practice copulaton, and to have the enitre body smoothed and depilated by male professionals."
