This group was owned in 1495 by Giuliano de' Medici.

The two figures in this group may have been inspired by a classical relief.

The base is triangular, and indeed the group is planned with THREE faces..

The group comprises three subsidary views from the three angles of the base:

On one the heads of the two figures are ALIGNED.

On a second view, it is the left elbow of ANTEO and the left knee of ERCOLE that are aligned.

On the third view, Anteo's left leg gets projected.
