NO SUCH THING AS A "ROMAN COPY"...

Speranza

The ROMAN Patrons never wanted a mere 'replica'.

--- a 'similitudo' does -- of a 'prototipo'.

THIS SLIGHT adjustment in semantics leads to the important realisation that ROMAN so-called 'copies' were NEVER mere reflections of a 'model' but of its own 'context'.

THIS CLARIFICATION undescores the ROMANNESS of ROMAN 'copies'.
