Porteriana

Speranza

Yale held a special weekend of events to celebrate the life and work of Cole Porter ’13.

It culminated in an edition of the very popular Cole Porter Swing Dance at the Quinnipiac Club.

Cabaret: One of Those Things: some music by Cole Porter
This kicks off the Cole Porter Centennial Weekend.

Cole Porter Swing Dance at the Quinnipiac Club
The Cole Porter Centennial at Yale wrapped up with a party featuring a dance band – led by Jay Gitlin and crooner Ginny Bales – as they recreate the glamour of a swanky New York supper club with their authentic renditions of hot jazz of the 1920s and 1930s and dance band swing from the 1940s.

Dance, eat, drink, and listen to the timeless music of Cole Porter (and his peers) at the historic Quinnipiac Club.

Begin your beguine and brush up your fox trot and lindy-hop – or, stand back and watch the fancy foot work of the Yale Swing and Blues dancers.

Registration entitles you to an evening of enchanting music; a buffet of elegant hors d’oeuvres; and two vintage cocktails or glasses of wine - cash  bar also available for the extra thirsty.

Period dress encouraged!

Sophisticated attire strongly encouraged!

Witty repartee essential!
