CUPID's ardent chariot bursts through the clouds, drawn by majestic, impetuous steeds, headed towards VENERE's beloved islade of CYTHERA, where the small but powerful god will celebrate his triumph over man, who is vanquished by pleasure.

On the gilded vehicle, CUPID is about to shoot his dart toward the throng he has subjugated.

In the foreground, another couple, perhaps VENERE E MARTE, sit and contemplate the scene, which the female figure points out to the warrior, who is depicted from the back.
