The Marta house in Castelfranco, near the Duomo, dates back to perhaps the fifteenth century.

It was frequently renovated and expanded.

It was sold by the MARTA family.

It passed through numerous hands:

It was the ZABOTTINI family who bought it. Later it was owned by Trevisian families.

It then was owned by the PELLIZARRI.

Rumour had it that it belonged to the BARBARELLA family (Giorgione is thought to have been an illegimiate son of the Barbarella family). But there is no documentary evidence for that.
