THE FRESCOES by Luigi DORIGNY for the main hall and oratory of VILLA ALLEGRI -- 1719

Speranza

VILLA ALLEGRI obviously belonged to the ALLEGRI family.

it was build around 1656 by the Allegri family, nobility from Verona, on the site of a preexisting sixteenth-century structure.

In 1824, it was acquired by ANTONIO ARVEDI, a wealthy industrialist from Trento, for the considerable sum of 362,000 Austrian lire.

The frescoes include:

BATTLE OF THE CENTAURS and the LAPITHS

PERSEO DISPLAYING THE HEAD OF MEDUSA
EOLO

ELISHA and the chariot of HELIOS

THE HOLY SPIRIT

The four evangelists.
