"Ev'ry time we say goodbye"
Billy Rose followed his greatest theatre success by purcashing the Ziegfeld Theatre.
He determined to open it with a spectacularly Roseian spectacle, with Lillie and Lahr and Benny Goodman, Salvador Dali's scenic conceptions, and a Broadway ballet composed by no less than Igor Stravinsky.
All to no avail, and no thanks to Porter's pedestrian score.
