THE FRESCOES by Andrea Urbani for the portego and second-floor rooms of VILLA VENDRAMIN -- 1764

Speranza

BEAUTIFUL.

The thing was obviously owned by the VENDRAMIN.

But it originally belonged to the DA NOENTA family.

It was later owned by the DALESMANINI.

The castle was dismantled by EZZELINO DA ROMANO.

It then belonged to the ERIZZO family.

It was then sold to the patriarch of AQUILEIA, DOMENICO GRIMANI.

After the marriage of VINCENZO GRIMANI to MARINA CALERGI, the villa was named

"CRIMANI CALERGI".

VETTOR Crimani Calergi died without any sons and left his estate to his son-in-law NICOLO VENDRAMIN, who had to add his name to the other surnames:

VENDRAMIN GRIMANI CALERGI.

Finally, according to the 1893 will of ELENA VALMARANA, widow of ANDREA VENDRAMIN GRIMANI CALERGI, the villa was left to the municipality of NOVENTA -- which was the land of the originally DA NOENTA family!

The frescoes include:

SWAN attacked by dogs

CHINESE ROOM

ASTREA ROOM

LANDSCAP

Sleeping Eros
