THE FRESCOES by Giuseppe ANGELI for the ballroom in the VILLA WIDMANN (1760)

Speranza

A beautiful thing.

The thing had other earlier owners.

In 1718, conte DIODATO SCERIMAN acquired from the TORNIBENI brothers a "manor house with orchard and kitchen garden".

So the first owners were the TORNIBENI.

In 1751 SCERIMAN sold the thing to duca GABRIO SERPELLONI.

It is not known when the WIDMANN acquired the villa.

It is possible that they first rented the villa.

The frescoes include:

IFIGENIA
RATTO D'ELENA
GLORIA of the WIDMANN family
COROLIANO accepts the command of the Roman troops against Hannibal
CURTIUS RUFUS on his horse falling into a chasm
SCIPIONE combats the Carthaginians.
MUCIUS SCAEVOLA before PORSENNA
