The villa was owned by the MARCELLO family.

They were members of the Venetian nobility.

ANDREA MARCELLO was the first owner.

In the late seventeenth century, the villa passed into the hands of the CORNER family, then the MOROSINI, and finally in 1725, the MARUZZI, an extremely wealthy banking family of Greek origin.
