CAPITOLINE COLLECTION.

SESTO IV was the FIRST to make an important donation to the ROMAN PEOPLE of an important group of ancient BRONZES which had adorned the LATERNA:

"LA LUPA"
"IL NUDO DELLA SPINA" (Marzio)
"IL CAMILLO"
"LA TESTA DI COSTANTINO" -- "Testa colossale", at the time identified with NERONE, or COMMODO.

ERCOLE, a colossal statue in gilded bronze, which had originally decorated the ARA MASSIMA, raised in honor of this hero in the FORO BOARIO.

The EVENT mentioned in a marble slab by the CONSERVATORI of the epoch is now exhibited on the wall of the grand staircase.
