Christ was heavy, and REPROBO couldn't hold him.

When Christ revealed his name, REPROBO was able to transport him. And he changed his name from REPROBO to

CRISTO-FORO

the carrier of Christ.

TIZIANO makes a few changes. He transfers the event to VENEZIA.

And the Doge's palace and the Church of San Marco, and the tall campanile can be seen in the background.

This gives the image obvious political significance.

CRISTOFORO (or REPROBO) is seen in contrapposto position.

This recalls the work of MICHELANGELO.
