LIST OF POPES - Musei Vaticani ---------------------

Speranza

We start the history with Giuliano della Rovere, although noting that there were at least two other popes involved with the future Museum collections, as they settled in the Belvedere area: Niccolo, and Innocenzo. Indeed, it was Innocenzo's idea to name the villa the "belvedere", for that was what it provided.
