Yet apparently Shaffer (in "Amadeus") has him as being from Lombardy.
Shaffer's "Amadeus" opened at the National Theatre, London, on Nov. 2, 1979. I
wonder if reviews written early back in the day pointed out what seems like a
mistake in the play (if not film adaptation? I don't have the script to
hand).
