The Tribune was designed by Cuontalenti and built in 1584.
The Tribuna is octagonal in shape.
It had complex cosmological meaning, still decipherable.
In the centre of the room, like a reproduction of the Tribune itself on a smaller scale, stood a cabinet in the form of a little octagonal temple -- called a "Studiolo" -- designed by Buontalenti.
Extremely luxurious, of a somewhat heavy taste, but based on scholarly criteria, the Tribuna soon became famous.
It was admired by countless visitors on their "Grand Tour".
