"Perseo" in Piazza della Signoria

Cosimo had longed for the Perseo.

The statue was, from the first, desitned for the easternmost bay of the Loggia dei Lanzi, where it would form a counterpart to the "Judith" of Donatello, which had been removed from the Palazzo Medici and now stood in the corresponding bay at the west end of the loggia.
