PLUTONE di Bernini -- a tutto tondo: the group in the round gains by the spatial immediacy of three full dimensions and by rich secondary views. It must be emphasised, however, that these OTHER views are _distinctly_ subordiante: the group was carved to be seen from the front, and, like the other statues at the Casino of the Villa Borghese, it stood AGAINST A WALL.
