Speranza
La Sale in his account of the Mountain of Venus, records that a knight had been there and even gives his name, which, strikingly enough, is distinctly a Low Country form, Hans Wanbanbourg.
This fact takes on an added significance when we recall that the Italian La Sale had doubtless learned the story during a sojourn in the North.
