An obscure tradition, reported by Servius, the commentator of Virgilio, holds that Apollo fell in love with one Leucatas (or Leucates).

In order to escape from the god, Leucatas jumped from the southern promotnory of the island of Leucas 9or Leucadia) in western Greece t the place known as "Leucadia's Leap".
