In 1788, a book ascribed to ARETINO was published in London, under the title:
"THE SCHOOL OF VENUS; or Amorous Fancies and the Postures of Love described in two instructive and confidential dialogues between a woman and a virgin."
The fact that the authorship is absurdly ascribed to ARETINO indicates the extent to which his influence on erotic literature continued to be exerted.
