Speranza
Bernini's group was placed in a corner of the room in Villa Borghese.
It stood under an outstanding painting by Federigo Barocci, "The Fall of Troy", which shows an analogous group.
Bernini must have studied this painting, and, although his own group is LESS STABLE than Barocci's, the painter's unusual and imaginative colorism must have exerted an influence on the sculptor.
