English: Theseus defeats the Centaur (1805-1819) is a neoclassical sculpture by Antonio Canova (1757-1822), on display on the Grand staircase at the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna. The group was ordered by Napoleon for the Corso in Milan; it was then bought by Emperor Franz I of Austria for the Theseustemple in the Volksgarten; since 1891 in the Kunsthistorisches Museum.
