Cleomachus and Philistus

Speranza

----

Plutarch, citing Aristotle (the historian of Chalcis) retells how

Cleomachus (Anton) asked his boy-love (eromenos) (Philistus), who was by, if he would be a spectator of the fight.

And the eromenos said he woudl, and affectionately kissing him and putting his helmet on his head, Cleomachus with a proud joy put himself at the head of the bravest.

-----

Cleomachus got killed.

And, the people of Calchis cherished and honoured these types of liaisions, more than others.

Dionysius in his "Origins" has Anton and Philistus.
