Speranza
D. G. Myers is the author of "The Elephants Teach" (Chicago) and co-editor (with Paul
M. Hedeen) of "Unrelenting Readers" (Story Line).
Educated in Riverside, Myers earned his degrees from
-- the University of California/Santa Cruz, where he founded the literary magazine "Quarry" (later "Quarry West")
with Raymond Carver.
-- Washington University in St. Louis, where he wrote a MA dissertation on Stanley Elkin under Stanley Elkin.
-- and Northwestern University, where he
held the TriQuarterlyFellowship and studied under Gerald Graff and Joseph
Epstein.
