It is Livio who gives a far more explicit and emphatic account of Bruto' vengeful
oath than do such other sources for the Lucretia story as
Valerio Massimo, Ovidio, or the Gesta Romanorum.

VALERIO MASSIMO (F actorum et dictorum memorabilium, Book VI, Chapter I, 1)
does not, in fact, mention the oath at all. ovID (Fasti, 11, 831-52) and the Gesta
Romanorum(T ale 135) recount it with fewer details.
