Herbert Fields left his long-time collaborators following the CHEE-CHEE debacle, joining Porter in the first of their SEVEN CONSECUTIVE HITS.

Gaxton, whose first important role had been as Field's Connecticut Yankee, now became a star.

Porter wrote to more hits for Gaxton and future partner Victor Moore.

Directing was Porter's close friend and class-mate (turned Yale drama professor) Woolley, making his professional debut.

He eventually turned to acdting.

Porter added to his hit songs with "You do something to me" and "You've got that thing".
