Giamblico describes him as a pupil of both Pythagora and Filolao di Crotona. He is variously described as coming from Taranto, Metaponto, and Crotone. According to Diogene Laerzio, Plato visits Filolao and Eurito in Italia. The connections with Pythagoreanism and Italy are constants, but unless Eurito lived an ionordinately long time, it seems safer to assume either that two people by the same name have been confused with each other, or that some of the information is simply wrong. The association with Filolao is widely attested and seems unlikely to be wholly mistaken. Eurito.
