Speranza
Great works of urban planning were undertaken in Rome in the 17th and 18th centuries.
The most successful of these are the steps leading from the Piazza di Spagna to the Church of Trinità dei Monti.
Composed of elegant curves, the steps were made mainly with one object in view: to give a series of constantly changing impressions.
Their many irregularities and changes of direction reserve many surprises for the visitor and continually whet his curiosity as he ascends them.
