The garden of "Villa Serra" was created by the Marquis Orso Serra at the beginning of 1800.
In 1982 it was bought by the municipalities of Genoa, Sant'Olcese and Serra Riccò.
In 2004 the park was completely restored.
The heart of the park is the eighteenth-century Serra Pinelli villa.
The interior of the building extend over 300 square meters, with decorations, coffered ceilings covered with gold, polychrome parquet floors.
Around, however, the park is for the unique scenery in the cityscape, one of the most interesting examples of nineteenth century garden.
Its current name is Historical Park and as such, aims to enhance the artistic heritage from the villa.
But the park is the real attraction that spans nine acres in the valley of the Rio Comag and attracts up to 30,000 visitors a year.
British architects used lakes, streams and water to paint beautiful scenes.
Serpentine paths, axes and cone visual perspective accompany the visitor between groves and vast grasslands pelouse the discovery of lakes, streams, waterfalls and a precious plant exotic tree species.
