This portrait betrays the strong influence of Franciabigio and Ridolfo Ghirlandaio.

In its execution it recalls the style of Pierfrancesco Foschi.

The gesture of the left hand may perhaps indicate that the piece originally had a companion piece.

This was a gift of J. P. Morgan, in 1917.
