And 'now known that P.B. Shelley made of Villa Magni in San Terenzo his residence and the Gulf of Poets owes its name to Sem Benelli, playwriter,enraptured from the scene of incomparable beauty that could admire from Villa Marigola.

But D.H Lawrence, the author of 'The Lover of Lady Chatterly' has stayed at the Shelley directly, mentioning the Hotel in a letter to a friend:
