Universal and Working Title execs were celebrating tonight at Venice’s Aman Hotel after the gala world premiere of The Danish Girl wowed the Lido.
The period trans=gender drama received a 10-minute standing ovation in the Sala Grande — not a common happenstance for a film here.
Star Eddie Redmayne, who earlier today called his role as Einar Wegener/Lili Elbe “a dream come true,” is again firmly on the awards trail.

He and lauded co-stars including Alicia Vikader, Mattias Schoenaerts and Amber Heard were all on hand for the premiere where there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
