Grice ed Occelo: la setta di Lucania --
Roma – filosofia italiana – Luigi Speranza (Lucania).
Filosofo italiano. A Pythagorean, according to Giamblico. Brother of Occilo di
Lucania. Occello appears to have held that the number III was the key to
understanding the world. However, according to Ippolito, he also believed that
in addition to the IV elements – earth, fire, air, and water – there was a
fifth principle which was circular motion. Filone says that Occelo believed
that it was possible to prove that the world is indestructible.
